Holiday break for the Craft Circle
The Craft Circle, which meets every Monday at 10 am, will take a break until April 2.  The ladies in this group worked hard making things for the  craft faire and are gathering their energies to start afresh in the new year.  If you like working on projects, like sewing, crafting, knitting, etc... please join these women in April.  You do not need to come every week, it is a lovely casual opportunity to meet and develop some friendships while having fun too!

New Officers for United Methodist Women
The Carson Valley United Methodist Women installed new officers for the coming year at their January meeting.  The new officers agreed to be a light to the women in their unit as well as our congregation.  They said yes to be used by God in this way.  They also have said yes to untold thousands of women, children and youth whose hop is in God and for many, their future will be brighter because of United Methodist Women.

Douglas County Social Services Seeking volunteers to help local families
Douglas County Social Services' Family Mentoring Program encourages families in our community to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their potential for success.  We invite individuals to help make a difference by volunteering their time as mentors to help families in poverty become more self-sufficient.  As a mentor, you will use your life's experience, share your strengths with others, provide inspiration, lend a sympathetic ear, and challenge people to succeed while exposing them to new ideas and activities.  Mentors help family's build confidence and gain knowledge.  A mentor creates a committed, trusting, and respectful relation ship with the family and is there to tackle disappointments and celebrate successes.  You must be at least 21 years old, commit a minimum of one-hour a week, reside in Douglas County, complete the application process, and adhere to program  policies and procedures.  To learn more about the Family Mentoring Program. please contact Rosa Alvarez, MSW at 775  782-9825
