Senior Lunch
The Senior Luncheon will be a "Birthday Party" for George Washington. February 22nd at noon. Please sign up on the sign up sheet in the Fellowship hall or call the Church Office by February 20th. Indicate if you need a ride. Wear your red, white, and blue!! The menu is turkey tetrazini and of course,,,, Birthday Cake!!! Stay "tuned in" with your weekly church bulletin to find out the latest about this event.
Choirs Begin Preparation for Lent and Easter
Members Of the Chancel Choir and Early Bird Choir, as well as guests from other churches and the community, will begin pregaring for Lent and Easter music starting on Tuesday, February 7 and continuing each Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 8:30 through Holy Week. In addition to singing Lenten and Easter music for Sunday worship, choir participants will prepare Prayers at the Cross for the Good Friday service on April 6 at 7:00, and the choirs will sing at both the 8:30 and 10:30 services on Easter Sunday, April 8.
UMW February Program
Speakers from Abbey Crossing, the local domestic violence shelter, and the parent organizaiton, The Family Support Council, will provide the program at the Feb. 9. meeting of the Carson Valley United Methodist Women. Please join us to hear about this very important shelter. The luncheon meeting starts with a potluck at 11:30am in the education room. The program will start at about 12:15pm. All are welcome!!!!
Ash Wednesday Observance
Ash Wednesday is on February 22. We will again gather in the Sanctuary at noon and in the evening to impose the ashes that mark both our identity as followers of Chirst and our journey to easter. Come as you need to these times of prayer and commitment.
February Movie night is-------RIO!!!
Our next movie night is on Saturday, Feb 18th at 7:00pm. We will be showing "RIO". When Blu, a domesticated macaw meets the fiercely independent Jewel, he takes off on an adventure in Rio de Janeiro. As always the movie is free and so is the most delicious popcorn you every tasted! Great family fun....
Confirmation Class coming
Confirmation is a time for reflection and discussion of our faith and our response to God's invitation to live lives centered upon the Gospel. All 7th or 8th graders are invited to participate. Please call the church office to get times and schedules.
