Community Outreach

Convalescent Care Center Outreach

Join us every Tuesday at 9:30am as we laugh, sing and pray together with residents at our local convalescent care centers in Gardnerville.  We sing traditional hymns and read from the Upper Room.  We visit residents at Carson Valley Residential Care Center (1189 Kimmerling Rd.) and Gardnerville Health & Rehab Center (1565 Virginia Ranch Rd.)

Please join us! Contact the front office or Claudia Justus if you are interested. (This outreach currently on hold due to COVID restrictions.)

Carson  Valley Community Food Closet

We hold Harvest of Thanksgiving Sundays on the 3rd Sunday of every month. The congregation is invited to bring nonperishable food items (or paper goods) to the altar prior to the service. All items are then donated to our local Carson Valley Community Food Closet.  In addition, we make  monetary donations to this organization from our Birthday Bank funds.  Please click on this link to learn more about this wonderful organization.

Jail Ministry

Our pastor and volunteers visit the local Douglas County Jail inmates once a month on the 5th Friday. We are on a rotating schedule with other local churches in our area.  We meet with the inmates (males & females, in separate groups) from about 1:30-4:30pm.  We read scripture, discuss and pray together.  We often use the Upper Room publication as a basis for our worship.  We currently need more volunteers for this ministry. Please contact the main office if you are interested and the pastor will contact you. Please note: volunteers for this program must be fingerprinted through Douglas Co. This process can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks to be approved etc. (All jail ministry on hold due to COVID)
