Do you love to bake? Then we need you! The Bake Sale is a BIG part of the craft Faire. Cakes, pies, bread, cookies, cupcakes, fudge, homemade candy etc.! Start your mixers !
There are many ways to get involved with volunteering for the Craft Faire! You can bake for the bake sale, create crafts, visit local businesses to get raffle basket items or silent auction items, or you can help with the set up, clean up or volunteer the day of the event. As the event is very large and contains a lot of "moving parts", volunteers do need to be organized to some extent to ensure the success of the event. Please contact one of our two chair-women regarding your wish to be involved, whether you are making, baking or sharing your time. Please contact Sharon Calvert 586-8618 or
Ann Santos (623) 340-6914. New and returning volunteers are all welcome! We look forward to hearing from you!
Bring Your Homemade Crafts
The UMW Holiday Craft Faire & Bake Sale 2016 is coming soon, and much help is needed!
Check out the pics and areas of interest below to see how you can be a part of this wonderful annual fundraiser. Everyone is welcome to volunteer or donate to this event. The more the MERRIER!
Our craft faire has a raffle basket event and a separate silent auction. Whereas raffle baskets are literally baskets of themed gifts, silent auction items might include a donation of a person’s time—offering to tutor math or work in someone’s yard for so many hours, for example. Other items can be from merchants in our community. A request on church letterhead is often needed for the business. There are copies of the letter in the church office. Do you paint? Take pictures? Have a time-share to share? These are wonderful donations for the silent auction.
Grandma's Attic is a series of tables that display antiques for sale at the craft faire. Items might include things like: antique tea cups, silver, jewelry, vases, books, lamps, clocks, gloves and much more. These are nice items that one might find in their Grandma's Attic. (We would like items that are more special than typical rummage sale items.) Irene Buyten is the contact person again this year for this wonderful part of the craft faire! Take a look around your house and attic and see what you might donate! PS... we also need your gently used ornaments!

Donate Themed Raffle Baskets
Calling all crafters! Craft Faires need crafts and LOTS of them! We invite you to bring your crafts to the craft faire to sell. We have also been getting together for months in our crafting circles to create crafts. Items are often Christmas themed but it certainly isn't a requirement. If you have crafts you wish to sell at the craft faire this year, please contact Ann Santos (623) 340-6914 or Sharon Calvert (775) 586-8616 or cell:
(775) 901-2291 so we can get an idea of who will be contributing this year. (Please note: All proceeds from items sold at this craft faire are combined and donated to the UMW. Proceeds are donated to the organizations listed at the bottom of this page.) Thank you!
And the Proceeds Go To...
Donate Silent Auction Items
Note: Please ask Len for colored copies of needed. (Please don't print copies off home printers or make copies of copies to post. Len has the file and can make high quality copies from church printer. Thank you!)
The UMW uses the money earned from this fundraiser to further mission work within our church, our community and beyond. We give money to the Family Support Council, the Food Closet, Abbey Crossing (refuge for battered women), City of Refuge (home for young pregnant women in crises) to name a few areas in the community. Within our church family we help fund camper scholarships for youth wanting to attend church camps. We give money to the Local Outreach fund and recognize our high school seniors. Looking for ways to help in mission beyond our community we always give money to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), the Heifer Project and several national need projects.
Donate Items to "Grandma's Attic"
Our raffle event is mostly based on themed raffle baskets assembled by our congregation members. Baskets often have a theme such as: food items, movie basket, bath & beauty, tools, automotive theme, baby, toys, puzzles and so much more! Baskets do not always have to have a theme, however. People really seem to enjoy these offerings—peering into the baskets to see what else is in there. The raffle will have ticket boxes in front of each item. This way you can put your ticket in the box for the basket or raffle item that you want. People like the idea that they can make this choice and don’t end up winning the one item they didn’t want! If that sounds like too much work—why not buy a gift card or two from the church and include that in the raffle? Need an idea for your basket theme? Check out the TONS of great ideas online.
