It's such a blessing that our Sunday School program is growing! We are currently searching for Sunday School volunteers who could teach Sunday School. We supply the curriculum, you supply the energy & the love of kids! Our goal is to get several volunteers who could rotate Sundays. If you would like to help, please contact Pastor Tony or Len in the front office. Thank you!
Many people enjoy coffee and goodies after second service on Sundays. The people who stay for
the fellowship has increased, so this is obviously a successful event. However, due to vacations and other issues, we currently are severely shorthanded! If you can spare some time on Sundays, we would love to have your help. It is easy duty: making beverages (training provided!) and setting out cookies, etc. We usually have cleaned up the kitchen by noon or shortly thereafter and are heading home. With enough volunteers, we need serve only once a month. If you can assist, please contact John Adams ASAP, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Hope you will join me in helping out! Thank you!
In addition to our inspirational and uplifting worship services, the CVUMC also has a great variety of events for the whole family! The Carson Valley United Methodist Women will discover the “Sacred Space of Nurturing” at their next monthly luncheon meeting, Thursday, May 10. The potluck luncheon starts at 11:30 a.m. with the program following at 12:15 p.m. his potluck will focus on salads. Please bring a salad to share. In this month when we remember and honor our mothers, the UMW will talk about the blessings of mothers, mothering and nurturing. Nurturing is to provide love and support--to care for, inspire, protect and teach others. Women often fail to nurture support networks and friendships for ourselves. Betty Holmes--a member of the Great Northern District Team tasked with spiritual development--will also be with us during our last meeting of the spring. Betty is a Carson City resident and recently joined the district UMW team. All women of the congregation are automatically members of UMW. No RSVP is necessary. If you want to visit, come early. Please join us!

Come on Saturday, May 12th at 7:00 p.m. and experience the newly released Blu-ray of “The Greatest Showman,” staring Hugh Jackman, Michelle Williams, and Zac Efron. “Orphaned, penniless but ambitious and with a mind crammed with imagination and fresh ideas, the American Phineas Taylor Barnum will always be remembered as the man with the gift to effortlessly blur the line between reality and fiction. Thirsty for innovation and hungry for success, the son of a tailor will manage to open a wax museum but will soon shift focus to the unique and peculiar, introducing extraordinary, never-seen-before live acts on the circus stage. Some will call Barnum’s wide collection of oddities, a freak show; however, when the obsessed showman gambles everything on the opera singer Jenny Lind to appeal to a high-brow audience, he will somehow lose sight of the most important aspect of his life: his family. Will Barnum risk it all to be accepted?” An exciting musical that anyone and everyone will enjoy. And to add to this spectacular evening of entertainment, we will be serving our world renowned Popcorn and amazing surprise treats. And best of all, it is all for free!
