"Star Wars" Friday, August 20th at 7:00 pm we will be showing the original "Star Wars" movie in the Fellowship Hall and yes, there will be popcorn and it's all Free!! Invite everyone you know to join us!
Senior Lunch on a "Hot August Day" Drive your vintage car over and have lunch with us! Menu items will be served in the Fellowship Hall beginning at NOON. Please sign up or call the Church office by noon on August 23rd! Please join us!
John Nilsen Concert, Sunday August 29th at 2:00 p.m. Pianist John Nilsen will perform in concert at the Church. Nilsen performed a solo concert at CVUMC two years ago, but this time he will be joined by percussionist Jason Moore, whose performance lends additional audio and visual excitement to the concert. Nilsen states that Moore has been performing with him for over twenty years. The duo has performed all over the U.S. and Great Britain and have collaborated on a dozen recordings. During the concert, Jason will play over twenty percussion instruments, including drum sets, congas, and brass and hand percussion. Admission to the concert is free, but donations will be graciously accepted to offset the performers' expenses.
CVUMC Chancel Choir Opening Rehearsal, Tuesday, August 31 Time to be announced. The Chancel Choir will swing back into action with a special opening rehearsal/extravaganza on Tuesday evening, August 31. The Choir will also sing for the 10:30 worship service on Sunday, September 5th. Exact details for the opening rehearsal/extravaganza are still in the making, but undoubtedly FOOD and FUN will be involved. So sand off the rust on your vocal chords and get ready to be reacquainted with some old standard songs and learn some new ones. Current choir members, please mark your calendars and be on the lookout for new members. If you aren't currently a member, consider this your personal invitation to join the choir. Miracle Work Days Volunteers are needed for exterior and interior maintenance of the church facility. Generally nice weather will take us outside, and too hot or too cold will take us inside. Please join us for work in fellowship and a nice lunch. Take note of the following dates for 2010 for this activity. -- August 21 --September 11 -- October 9
