Fun Pics from UMW Luncheons!

You can help end hunger in Douglas County and have fun the same time. UMW is sponsoring an afternoon of bowl painting on Saturday, June 29 from 1-4 pm. Empty Bowls brings together community groups and individual potters to make bowls. The group holds a dinner fundraising event in October where local restaurants donate soups, salads and pastas and attendees can purchase the handmade bowls. Douglas County Empty Bowls donates its proceeds to the Carson Valley Community Food Closet. Diners are encouraged to purchase bowls that serve as a reminder of those struggling with hunger in the community.  Sign up on the Bulletin Board in the Fellowship Hall by June 16 to paint a bowl. All supplies, bowls and paint are provided that day, so just bring your imagination. Have fun while helping fight hunger here in Douglas County.

Calling ALL crafters! Stop by the CVUMC education room for one of the craft workshops on the first and third Monday of each month (with the exception of holidays). Each workshop is a fun, creative fellowship from 9:30-11:30. Learn something new or share your talents. You can select from a variety of different crafts to make some with little or no skill needed. Craft supplies are also available to those wanting to create crafts at home for our Nov. 2nd Heavenly Craft Faire.
